Visting Decathlon
The next morning we started as usual after breakfast but somehow a bit tensed since we had to find a bikeshop to get Anja’s bike fixed. Riding with just a rear brake in hilly Tuscany loaded with luggage is just not good.
To make things worse it was Sunday so all shops in proximity closed. Except one! Decathlon which was more or less located on our route. So this would be our first destination for the day. I knew from a prvious ride in France that they normally have a workshop were you can get things fixed. So we made our way. through very beautiful landscape and also some beautiful medieval towns.

But yeah we could not really enjoy it Anja was focused on the road and I was focused worrying and finding the right way.

So we passed some UNESCO world heritage sights and were only happy once we reached Decathlon.

There they had a shop I explained the problem, the guy would have been happy to help, but he did not have any parts to fix it either. There it really dawned to me that this is going to be a real problem. Resulting even in a stop of our tour. So there we sat in Decathlon drinking coffee from a vending machine and discussed our options. the only happy person was our daughter who found a lot of things to play.
In the end we bought Anouk a little Basketball that she liked playing with and hit the road again to reach our final destination for the day which would be the beautiful town of Siena in the heart of Tuscany. The campground was located out of town so we got us a room in the center in an old building.
Since the situation was as it was we made the best out of it and walked around the city. Definitely worth a visit, but all in all I think we preferred Lucca more.
