Swoosh
86kms were on the schedule for this on. Our goal is to stay around 70, so this was actually too long. But accoirding to the height profile it was suppose to be flat or actually descending a bit. Another concern was that it was on a main road.
So we started into the day with mixed feelings and actually freezing it got really cold over night and in the morning when we go tup everything was foggy. But the fog lifted and revealed a beatiful blue sky, the breakfast was great and so we made us on our way again. The first 110 kms went really well then again the ups and downs started. Having the day before in mind were the height profile also did not show this, I started to worry, if this would go on like that we would never make it. But it was just a short passage after that we followed a river and actually a really beautiful valley.
Riding on the big road was actually also not that bad since it had good conditions and a sidelane where all sorts of slow vehicles like us were driving. So we made a really good pace and after 55kms left the main road and followed some smaller roads, that got bigger and bigger again but little traffice the closer we got to Chiang Rai finally a real city again with a nice resort waiting for us. We were even that fast that we could have a swim n the pool and do our laundry.
