After the up and down the days before we decided we want to take it a bit easier and diverted from our original route which would have included two more mountain stages. Therefore instead of going from Nan to Phayao we would now head for Phrae. This was actually the very first route I planned but back then decided against it because there was only one homestay on the route which back then seemed very local, but after our experience so far we did not see any problem with that any more and contacted the homestay via Facebook and they reserved a room for us.
So after some photos we left our nice stay in Nan and hit the road. The first part of the ride went through the backcountry nothing special there. As always we found a great place for a stop for coffee and drinks. then we had to follow one of the bigger roads. We realised that it was lately redone and now had more the character of an Autobahn, not that great on the one hand, because it was rather boring but we made good progress and the climb on that route was not that steep for once.

The homestay turned out to be a whole house just for us with a great view in the middle of nowhere. But the lovely owner took good care of us and ordered food for us. Since we had a bit of a problem with the language barrier the day before we were quite hungry and ordered quite lot 😀 We also by now really learned the advantages of Google translate. Even though sometimes it comes up with funny translations it is soooo helpful
