Scenic Route

We good a nice Thai breakfast from our owner and left the nice building white early. The thing about this route was that we had the option to just follow the main road (Autobahn) until Phrae which would mean a 50km easy boring ride. Or taking the scenic route. A bit longer and a bit climbing in it.

We decided for the scenic route.

Which turned out to be much more hilly than expected and also since we could not take a shortcut also longer. So instead of 50km downhill ( what I had in mind for the day when I got out of bed ) we had 60+ kms with Thai style ups and downs.

The route was actually really beautiful though, no traffic nice mountains. Anja enjoyed it I hated it. I was more than ready for a pause day.

Nevertheless after the obligatory coffee stop we arrived in Phrae in the early afternoon. The town turned out to be quite lovely, while it is definitely not a must visit place it was relaxed and had a lot of old wooden buildings and was not too busy. So we really enjoyed our stay there.
