13: Lampang – Chae Son

Adding a loop

The day started with our usual routine: getting up, pack our stuff, get breakfast, pack some more and put everyhting on our bikes and off for the next stage.

Since we had some time left and we decided it would be too stressful to fly to the south of Thailand for the beaches we did not take the straight way back to Chiang Mai but actually added anohter loop that would take us into the back country and the mountains again. This stage was supposed to takes us there so it was mostly flat and not too exciting. It was the road 1157, following a river and going slightly uphill all the time.

We arrived after 2 coffee stops at our stop for the night, which was a very lovely farm on which the owner family had set up some huts for their guest. Again it was very nicely set up, there were lots of animals which was perfect for Anouk, since there was a lot to discover for her. The owner made food for us which was really great since most of it was grown on the farm. Including the rice which was wild and had a really great taste.
